  • Running On the Road

    Traveling brings wonderful opportunities as well as countless unknowns. This requires much more thinking and planning. When I am at home in Michigan, when I want to run I know how far certain loops are, where there are sidewalks and safer areas. When I need accountability, I have friends I can run, walk, swim, snowshoe or cross-country ski with. I know when and where I can take yoga, spin or TRX classes. I have a basement in which I can do fitness DVDs.

  • Confessions of my Traveling Mindset

    As we get further into this traveling adventure, I find that different places and opportunities bring out different things in me. I think people (including me) return from vacation needing a vacation or just rest because they have done or seen so much in a short amount of time. I think there is an inherent "now-or-never" mentality of being in new places short-term. I think there is also more awe and curiosity.
