  • The Great Clips Rule: There's No Place Like Home

    As we've moved from place-to-place these past several months, a few locations have started--just a little--to feel like home.

    Recently, as we pulled out of an RV park that felt very comfortable and homey, Brooke commented that it was very sad and difficult to leave. I told her that maybe this was what it felt like to pull up roots that were taking hold, even if very they were very shallow ones.

  • HALF-WAY HOME

    Last week marked the official half-way point between when we left Michigan on June 14, 2014 and when we plan to return on August 1, 2015. Two-hundred and six days down, 206 days to go. The days often feel long, but the weeks and months have flown by. It is hard for me to grasp all the places we have visited, all the places we have lived, and all the people we have met.

  • Rounding a Corner

    When we arrived in Arizona a week ago, for the first time we had to change our clocks forward rather than back. Arizona doesn't observe daylight savings time, so at the moment we are living on Mountain Time. It seems kind of strange to say, but it makes me feel closer to home to know that there is only a 2 hour time difference rather than the 3-hour difference we have been keeping in mind since we got to Coeur d' Alene, Idaho in September.
